 Jewish Wedding Ceremony:
For Jewish couples not being married by a Rabbi I suggest my Spiritual Non-Religious ceremony with the addition of a Hebrew wedding prayer and the Breaking of the Glass ceremony at the end. The ceremony may take place under a Huppah.
A Hebrew Wedding Prayer
Blessed art thou, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who hath created joy and gladness, bridegroom and bride, mirth and exultation,
pleasure and delight, love and brotherhood,
peace and friendship.
May there soon be heard in the cities of Judah,
and in the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy and gladness,
the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride,
the jubilant voice of bridegrooms from the wedding canopy,
and of youths from their feasts of song.
Blessed art thou, O Lord, who gives the Bridegroom joy in his bride.
Breaking of the Glass Ceremony:
Crushing a wineglass at the end of the wedding ceremony is, perhaps, one of the most recognized Jewish wedding traditions and is one with many meanings. It is a symbol of the destruction of the First Holy Temple of Jerusalem. It also represents the fragility of life and all human relationships and serves as a reminder that marriage changes the lives of individuals forever. Drinking the wine represents the joys and sweetness of life, and crushing the glass represents the hardships.
Please step on the glass now.
Mazaltov!
The cost for a floral decorated huppa is $550
Please remember to bring a glass to crush.
